About Teen Counseling
Teen Counseling is run by BetterHelp for young people aged 13 to 19. A parent or guardian gives consent, the teen is matched with a licensed therapist, and they talk by messaging, phone or video in a private room parents can't read; parents can have a separate chat with the therapist. Teen Counseling's FAQ lists the price as $60 to $90 a week, billed every four weeks, depending on location and therapist availability; some recent reviews report $70 to $100 a week. It does not bill insurance and therapists do not prescribe medication. The FTC's 2023 order against BetterHelp names Teen Counseling as one of its brands; the FTC said sign-up promises that email addresses would never be shared were broken, and the order bans sharing health data for advertising. No published study of Teen Counseling itself was found.
