Equip

Equip is a virtual eating disorder treatment program available in all 50 states. Each patient gets a care team made up of a therapist, a dietitian and a medical provider who specialise in eating disorders, plus a mentor with lived experience, and families take part in treatment. Care also includes support groups, skills workshops, real-time meal support and the Equip app. It treats anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder and ARFID. Equip is in network with most private insurers, including UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield and Anthem, and some Medicaid plans; it does not take Medicare. Self-pay patients get a cost estimate before starting, with HSA/FSA and interest-free payment plans. Equip's own researchers have published a randomized comparison of two dietary approaches within its family-based treatment (100 patients) and an uncontrolled study of 783 patients treated for ARFID, in which weight and symptoms improved.
