About Sunnyside
Sunnyside (made by Cutback Coach, Inc.) is a US moderation program for people who want to drink less without necessarily quitting. You set a weekly drink plan, log drinks by text message or in the iOS or Android app, and get daily tips and messages from a coach. Reviews list plans at about $12 a month, $29 a quarter or $99 a year after a 15-day free trial, with a pricier premium tier that adds more hands-on coaching. The company has also launched Sunnyside Med, a separate online program that adds a naltrexone prescription for $99 a month (billed quarterly) plus a $50 intake fee. A 2024 study in Alcohol: Clinical and Experimental Research looked at data from more than 45,000 Sunnyside users and found self-reported weekly drinking fell by about a third over 12 weeks; it had no comparison group, so it cannot show the program caused the drop. Its privacy policy says it does not share self-reported drinking data with ad partners but does share other data with advertising companies for interest-based ads.
