About Sesame
Sesame is a US marketplace for cash-pay health care. You browse independent providers, see each one's price upfront, and book a video (or some in-person) visit; it covers mental health along with urgent care, prescriptions, weight loss and other services. For mental health you can book therapy sessions or psychiatric visits with a psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse practitioner, or join Mental Health Rx, a $79/month subscription for ongoing medication management with refills and provider messaging. Sesame does not bill insurance, though you can submit receipts yourself for out-of-network reimbursement. Its providers do not prescribe controlled substances such as stimulants (Adderall, Vyvanse) or benzodiazepines, and it does not have psychiatrists in every state. Visits tend to be one-off bookings, so ongoing therapy with one clinician depends on that clinician's availability. Sesame also sells a medication membership, Everyday Rx (see the SesameRx record).
