Oracle Health Millennium (formerly Cerner Millennium) is one of the two dominant enterprise electronic health record platforms for hospitals and large health systems in the United States, alongside Epic. Cerner Corporation was founded in 1979 in Kansas City, Missouri, and was acquired by Oracle Corporation in June 2022 for $28.3 billion, becoming Oracle Health. The Millennium platform serves over 27,500 facilities globally across acute care, ambulatory, and post-acute settings. The platform includes PowerChart (clinical documentation), FirstNet (emergency department), SurgiNet (surgery), PharmNet (pharmacy), and behavioral health modules. Cerner's behavioral health solution supports inpatient psychiatric units, crisis centers, and integrated behavioral health within medical settings. The platform emphasizes interoperability through FHIR APIs, health information exchange, and population health analytics. Oracle Health serves major hospital systems including the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), which selected Cerner/Oracle in 2017 to replace VistA.
