About Ria Health
Ria Health is a US telehealth program for alcohol use disorder. Members see a medical provider by video who can prescribe anti-craving medication such as naltrexone, meet with a recovery coach, and log blood alcohol readings with a Bluetooth breathalyzer in its app; the goal can be moderation or abstinence. It is reported to be available in all 50 states and is in-network with some insurers (including Anthem/BCBS, UnitedHealthcare/Optum, Oxford and Carelon), but not Medicaid. Ria does not publish self-pay prices; reviews report about $175 to $449 a month, and reviewers often mention billing and cancellation complaints. Two uncontrolled studies of Ria members, co-authored by company staff, reported lower breathalyzer readings among people who stayed in the program for 90 days, with about half still enrolled at 90 days in the first study; there is no randomized trial.
