About Aware Recovery Care
Aware Recovery Care started the in-home addiction treatment model, in which a care team (clinicians, nurses, recovery coaches and a care coordinator) treats alcohol and drug use at home over a long program, involves the family, and adds medication for addiction where appropriate. In September 2026 ARC Investco, doing business as Renew Health + Recovery, bought substantially all of Aware's assets; Aware's CEO stayed on, and the website now carries the Renew name. Trade press reported that Aware had been evicted from its Wallingford, Connecticut headquarters and faced a wage-and-hour lawsuit before the sale. Renew lists Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island, Florida, Georgia, Virginia, Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio. It is in network with several commercial insurers (including many Anthem and Blue Cross Blue Shield plans); a treatment directory says it does not take Medicaid or Medicare. The company publishes its own outcome figures (such as abstinence and reduced ER use), but no peer-reviewed study of the program was found.
