About Actissist
Actissist was developed by researchers at the University of Manchester as a smartphone app delivering CBT-informed support for people in early psychosis, with modules on voices, paranoia, perceived criticism, cannabis use and social withdrawal. It has been tested in two UK randomized trials: a 2018 proof-of-concept trial (36 people) that reported promising effects, and a larger 2024 trial (172 people) in which both Actissist and a symptom-monitoring control app improved, with no significant difference between them. We found no app-store listing or public release, so people cannot get it outside a study.
